It's been around 12 years since I read this and I still think about it today. This was part of my introduction to electronic music and I loved every second of it. Couldn't put it down. Maybe it's proof that when you become interested in a subject it can consume you and you can't get enough information. if you are really into analog music synthesis, you'll have to read this book at some point. the reason i didn't give it more stars was because half of the book is a really dry history of computer music and pre-synth music. when that happens you learn about a bunch of white men playing with computers and or merely parts of a future synth. not one of the musical pieces made at that time is still popular, although they might serve as an interesting footnote. it was cool to read about Stockhausen's..more
